About Our Organization
The Cuban American Bar Foundation (“CABF”) is dedicated to promoting and assisting Cuban-American law students and law students interested in activities of importance to the Cuban-American community to achieve their full potential through access and increased diversity in the legal profession. In that regard, CABF has endowed scholarships at each of the following Florida law schools:
- Florida International University College of Law
- Florida State University College of Law
- Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center
- St. Thomas University School of Law
- University of Florida – Levin College of Law
- University of Miami School of Law
In addition to the aforementioned endowed scholarships, CABF grants a number of “At-Large” scholarships to eligible law students throughout the country on a yearly basis. Two of which are named after CABA Past President Osvaldo Soto and Judge Margarita Esquiroz. In 2010, with the help of our donors, CABF started its own endowment in order to be able to fund the annual and recurring “At Large” scholarships to deserving law students. Today CABA’s own endowment has collected in excess of $100,000.00. CABF will continue to support the community through its efforts directed at providing scholarships for outstanding law students; continuing to support and expand its reach into Florida law schools and beyond with endowed scholarships; developing innovative strategies for increased diversity in our profession; and funding community-based events that support the foregoing goals.
